From 1909, this is one of two Cope Bros Anlezark rookie cards (see also the one with the 500 back - it's a little later) , He was in the 1st ever Australia Rugby Union WALLABIES touring side, to NZ in 1905; and he was also in the Aussie Rugby League KANGAROOS touring side of 1908, He pleyed for Oldham after that tour. An Ozzie legend and a rookie card to boot! Made by Cope Bros and given with Clips cigarettes in 1909 this is card #158 of the 282 series. The 282 series was issued a few months before the 500 series Oldham & Oz rugby star legend, Arthur 'George' Anlezark (which Cope's had a problem spelling, hs name differes on front & back and both are wrongly spelt! SOLD AS SEEN with CORNER CREASE top, some corner knocks, some wear, some marks but generally clean-looking for a 115-year-old card! One of the most difficult cards from the series, too..
