1930 -31 - note the early badge! it came some years before the typical Italy badge of the 1930's, Eraldo Monzeglio of Bologna, a legend with 4 Serie-A wins! Even better for Italy: he won double-gold: two World Cup wins in WC34 and WC38 !The card is by Falci / Farabola, and was made around the time of the 1930-31 international seasons, maybe for the Coppa Internazionale in 1931. Note the early shirt - and the youthful visage of Eraldo. Monzeglio would go on to win 2 World Cup winners medals in WC34 and WC38 ! This card is a postcard. As a redemption card it was issued, at a cost, by an Italian sports newspaper, Gazzetta dello Sport (not noted on the card itself). These cards were NOT given away. The cards had to be acquired through saving coupons and sending away, hence their rarity today. SOLD AS SEEN
